It navigates trauma (personal and familial) using these ways of knowing and being (concepts and practices) by positioning <i>ukufela ngaphakathi<\/i> as the perspective, a perspective that becomes an approach to viewing trauma within <i>iilali<\/i>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I use soil pigments on <i>ingcawe<\/i> as my mediums. The use of soil pigments references <i>ukusula, <\/i>a mural painting practice Emampondweni used for the inside walls of a rondavel.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As I practice <i>ndiyosula<\/i>, <i>ndiyathunuka<\/i>. <i>Ndithunuka,<\/i> the trauma narratives that exist within <i>lomzi kaMadosini, ndithunuka<\/i> by visually recontextualising and complicating (through metaphorically collaging) these narratives, from scenes of home, <i>elalini<\/i>, and from my family photo album.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><i>Umzi kaMadosini<\/i>: <i>A Witness<\/i> is then not only implementation. <i>Umzi kaMadosini<\/i> is a <i>witness<\/i> (\u2018archive\u2019); it holds truths and secrets close to its chest, like that stashed-away box with letters and a photo album accompanied by time.<\/p>\n<p><i>Lomzi<\/i> is longing, longing for relief and longing for healing, for <i>Umzi kaMadosini<\/i> is me, it is my mother, my uncles, my aunts, my siblings, my cousins and It navigates trauma (personal and familial) using these ways of knowing and being (concepts and practices) by positioning <i>ukufela ngaphakathi<\/i> as the perspective, a perspective that becomes an approach to viewing trauma within <i>iilali<\/i>.\u00a0<\/p> <p>I use soil pigments on <i>ingcawe<\/i> as my mediums.
